How to Order Free Cheques for Your Simplii Financial Account

Posted on 2017 11 02 by BetCrooks

As of November 1, 2017, all accounts at President’s Choice Financial became Simplii Financial accounts run by part of CIBC. While my old cheques that say PC Financial on them are still valid and I can use them, I’d prefer to have some that say Simplii on them, provided I can order them for free. So I went to the new website and signed on to find out how to order myself some cheques for our joint Simplii Financial chequing account.

Because Simplii will be offering free e-transfers, I may not need as many cheques, so if they are not still free, I probably won’t order any. UPDATE: On November 2 2017, they are free!

Ordering New Cheques for a Simplii Financial Chequing Account

Go to the Simplii Financial website at https://www.simplii.com/en/home.html

At the upper right side of the screen, click on the Sign on link.

The Sign on or Register Window

Type the correct information in the text boxes

  • Card number
  • Password

Then click on the Sign on button.

Do not click on the box “Remember my card.” Why make it easier for someone to hack into your account?

The Account Summary Page

What a nice tidy page! It lists my two accounts, chequing and saving, their available funds, their balance (if funds are on hold this will be larger than the available number), my address and email, and a Quick Transfer box.

Confirm that your mailing address is correct. You don’t want to order cheques printed with the wrong address!

If you have to correct your address, you will have to wait at least 1 business day before ordering your cheques for the system to be properly updated.

If your address is correct, on the left side of the screen, click on the link called More Services.

The More Services Page

There are several sections on this page.

In the section Account Services, find and click on the link Order Cheques.

The Order Cheques Page

The method Quick Order is already selected. This will order FREE personalized cheques.

If necessary, select the correct chequing account from the drop down list.

Click on the Order Now button.

A confirmation message should be displayed.

That was easy!

They say it will take 7-10 business days for the cheques to arrive in the mail. You also have to wait at least 10 business days before you can order another set of cheques.

Click on the More Services button to leave the confirmation screen.

When you are finished banking, click on the sign out button. For increased security clear your browser memory and cache and shut down your browser.

Now I’ll have to wait to see what spiffy new design the cheques boast.
